This is Silvers Wild Kate

Kate is a 6 1/2 year old registered TWH horse. She is dapple and has a personality that sets her apart. She is the horse that will leave our mare herd if I call her name. She has been known to go into a trailer by my voice command.
I took Kate to her first 30 mile endurance ride shortly after her 4rth birthday. The plan was to ride her no faster than a 7 mph average and constantly watch her heart rate.
The course was muddy, and somewhat rocky, and that favored a gaited horse. We averaged about 6.8 mph and she finished 2nd to Rebel.
Kate is my sweetheart horse. I have her scheduled to be a part of our breeding program in the future. She has completed 3 30 mile rides and 1 25 mile ride. Her worst placing has been 4rth. She won the Best of Condition Award in September at the Lincoln Trails 30 mile LD in September of 2009.
We then moved her up to the 55 mile distance and she finished 8th at Cave Country Canter in Indiana. In Feb of 2010 we took Kate to Mississippi for the Blazing Saddles 50 mile ride and used the ride to work on her gait. She was 19th out of 29. She actually got stronger over the 40-50 mile distance.
